JENNY @ 9 WEEKs and other KIDS

12/15/03

Jenny is doing well and weighs about 13-14lbs. Austin loves her and Jenny is learning about doggie rules. We cant wait to take her out to swim...(it appears that she loves the water with countless episodes of tipping over her water bowl and sliding across the floor chasing the mop) and walk .. but have to wait until  all shots are complete at 18 weeks.... Austin and Jenny are counting the days.

The only thing better than having one lab is having two!!

Read this Cute LAB Joke

"The Dead Duck"
A woman brought a very limp duck into a veterinary surgery. As she lay
her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened
to the bird's chest. After a moment or two, the vet shook his head
sadly and said, "I'm so sorry; Cuddles has passed away."
The distressed owner wailed, "Are you sure?"
"Yes, I am sure. The duck is dead", he replied.
"How can you be so sure", she protested. "I mean, you haven't done any
testing on him or anything. He might just be in a coma or something."
The vet rolled his eyes, turned around and left the room, and returned a
few moments later with a black Labrador retriever.
As the duck's owner looked on in amazement, the dog stood on his hind
legs, put his front paws on the examination table, and sniffed the duck
from top to bottom. He then looked at the vet with sad eyes and shook his head.
The vet patted the dog, and took it out, returning a few moments later with a beautiful cat.
The cat jumped up on the table and also sniffed delicately at the bird.
The cat sat back on its haunches, shook its head, meowed softly, and strolled out of the room.
The vet looked at the woman and said, "I'm sorry, but as I said, this is
most definitely, 100% certifiably, a dead duck."
Then the vet turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys and
produced a bill which he handed to the woman.
The duck's owner, still in shock, took the bill. "$150", she cried,
"$150 just to tell me my duck is dead?"
The vet shrugged. "I'm sorry. If you'd taken my word for it, the bill
would have been $20. But, with the lab report and the cat scan...."

She is really growing now!!

Jenny is whopping 35lbs @ almost 4months. She is finally potty trained and learning new doggy commands.

She loves the water and we had to put up the back yard pool because she and Austin were in it all the time.

Best to wait till summer! Here are some new pics.

She only  played this time .. and did not actually swim much. But that will come in time..esp with Austin there to teach her. Besides, that water is really cold!

Special Note:

IN LOVING MEMORY

Rainbow Bridge

JW aka John Wayne,  lost his battle with liver cancer Sept 10, 2003

He left us peacefully at 5:40pm

He was a good boy, and had a wonderful life.

He was brave until the end, He will be sorely missed!

JW Aug 92 - Sept 03

Here's to you "J"

We Love you "J" and will always remember the joy and that special doggieness you shared with us.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.   When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.  There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.  There is plenty of food, water, and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.   All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.  The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when suddenly one stops and looks into the distance.  His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver.  Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have just been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.  The happy kisses rain on your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart.   Then you cross the Bridge...together.
